Meet the Ascension Staff

Pastor Josh
Pastor Josh Miller
Pastor Josh came to Ascension in 2008. He and his wife, Kate, have three children, Jessie, Elijah, and Lucy. Josh grew up in Ohio and studied painting and drawing at Ohio State. He and his wife served in the Peace Corps as English teachers in Bulgaria. Josh worked as a youth director and pastor at two congregations in Columbus, Ohio before coming to Ascension. Josh enjoys bike riding, playing with his family, and has recently been influenced by the good people of Ascension to take up the hobby of home brewing.

Lee Hinton, Administrative Assistant
Lee Hinton came to Ascension Lutheran Church in January of 2009. Her voice is the first you hear when you call the church. Ms. Hinton will be glad to answer your questions and direct your calls. She prints the weekly announcement page and the monthly newsletter as well as keeping the church records up-to-date.

Jean Mueller, Sunday School Director
Jean is the mother of two and grandmother of 5. She and her husband Steve have lived in Cincinnati for over thirty years and have been members of Ascension since moving to Montgomery in 1977. She enjoys being a part of the bell choir and chancel choir at Ascension. A retired public school teacher, Jean enjoys working with the members of Ascension to plan activities and a diversified Sunday School program that will nurture the children at Ascension as they grow in faith and their understanding of God’s plan for their lives.

David Bezona, Director of Music at Ascension Lutheran
David has spent his entire life in the field of music and the theatre arts. David grew up in Wilmington, Ohio, and graduated in Music Education from the Ohio State University. He holds a Master's Degree in Music from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. After having pursued a professional singing career that took him to New York's Broadway stage and Europe's opera houses over a period of 25 years, David returned to Cincinnati to teach at both the high school and college level in the same fields of his expertise. David lives in Norwood with his wife, Brenda and their dog, Noelle.
