ADVENT

We are just about a month away from Advent, when we will light to candles of our Advent wreath each week until Christmas. These candles give us a visual reminder of how close it is to Jesus’s birthday. Their blue color brings to mind the hope of the season: they remind us that even in dark December, Jesus, the light of the world, will overcome the world’s darkness. This year I’m inviting you to self-nominate to light the advent wreath. You and/or your family will come to the front of the church early in the service, offer a brief prayer, and light the special candle(s) for that day. Please let Pastor Jodi know if you’d like to participate and if you’d like a specific Sunday (Nov. 30th, Dec. 7th, 14th, or 21st). All are welcome, and first come, first scheduled.

ADVENT POTLUCK

All are welcome to the Advent Potluck on 12/7, following the Sunday service. Sign up to bring your favorite dish then join in the fun decorating cookies and packing our offerings of coats and toys (new or gently used) for Good Plates Giving Project!

POINSETTIAS ORDERS

Help beautify the sanctuary for Christmas. The cost is $12 per plant, and a list of dedications will be printed in the Christmas Eve bulletins. Forms are available in the narthex kiosk. Please fill out the form and submit it to the office by November 30. Please attach your check to the form.

GATHERING OF THE GREENS

12/13, 9:30 am. Join us as Sandy Haffner leads us through assembling a decorative porch pot! While we work, we’ll share refreshments and fellowship. Feel free to bring greens from your home if you have them (evergreens, holly, southern magnolia, boxwood, dogwood, etc.) Bring your own 10” pot; Oasis and ribbon will be provided.
